This is Hello, Facebook’s new dialer and contacts app for Android

Does anyone still remember Facebook Home? Well seems the social media company is not done developing apps for Android.  This is Hello, Facebook’s new dialer and contacts app for Android that it has launched. It is just an alternative dialer app for Android, and you can download it now from the Google Play Store (though it seems to be geo-restricted, so you may not be able to download it depending on where you are).

Hello is a a dialer with an interface for viewing contacts, along with easy call blocking and seamless search for people and places. You can type a few letters of the name, and if that business has a Facebook page you’ll then be able to call it with one tap.

With Hello, you can message contacts using Facebook Messenger, and even call them via VoIP using Messenger’s dedicated feature. This is obviously powered by Facebook’s vast database of people and phone numbers. The photo that shows up is the person’s Facebook profile picture, and some additional details are shown on the call screen too – for example, if it’s someone’s birthday. You can also automatically block numbers that have been blocked by a lot of other people.
