During the MTN Expo, Huawei showcased their smart cow technology that could control a cow kilometers away from the actual farmer. Huawei officials supported the technology showcasing it as a future option currently available only in China. Coming back home, we have our own in names of  Jaguza Livestock App.

The Jaguza app is a startup that has made use of the available 3G/4G technologies to help farmers with affordable smart farming solutions. In Uganda alone, many farmers are faced with injustices surrounded by both on and off-farm theft that can never be solved quite easily. However, with the Jaguza app things seem to be different as farm animals are tendered with safety real-time trackers that poses remote control features.

In an Interview we had with the Jaguza App founder Ronald Katamba, Jaguza is an award-winning app that ranked up high during the 2015 ACIA awards. While the founders have had met challenges in bringing up such a unique startup to the life, the app uses drones, chips, and real-time trackers to identify sick animals and real-time geographic locations, a dream large scale farmers have opted to see come true in this 21st century.

Drones in Livestock with the Jaguza App

High-end drones like the DJI Phantom series and Mavic pros are fond of posing photography tweaks than solutions in the real world. As much as developed countries use these to track down several projects, the purpose of drones with the Jaguza app is revolutionary and can be highly credited to the app integrations that allow a farmer to oversee livestock together and also identify any triggered alarms off trackers.

To a greater extent, farmers will actually use drones to monitor livestock movements, water, and pasture points before identifying any sick animals off the farm. Well, a NITA official MR Joshua Akandwanaho was quick to embrace the idea of drones in farms as he confessed that its the easier way to track livestock and the future of farming in Uganda even with several futuristic competitors opting to join the league.jaguza livestock app

After a clear demonstration of how the Jaguza livestock app could be the game changer for basic grade startups, 5G is no longer a threat to the high rate of innovations that need such super grade speeds in order to operate. Although we shall see the 5G dream come true in the late months of 2020, 4G LTE is still a basic speed that can power innovations beyond the standard as the Jaguza app has turned out to be a smart solution for farmers.
