The iPhone 12 is said not to ship with accessories

The standard iPhone packaging comes with a 5W wall Charger, Lighting Cable, Wired Headsets, Apple Stickers, and paperwork. However, the iPhone rumor mill has it that this year’s iPhone 12 or whatever Apple chooses to call it will ship minus some of these basic accessories to keep costs down.

    What accessories in particular?

It is not standard Apple fashion to ship an iPhone minus the aforementioned basic accessories, just like its competition.  However, renowned Apple Analyst Ming-Kuo-Cho conforms to these reports, going on to say have said that Apple will actually ship the new iPhone minus these standard accessories that include wired earbuds and the charger.

Apple is apparently choosing this approach to keep the iPhone 12 at a similar price point as the iPhone 11, lest shipping the phone with these accessories will see it increase the price. This is because the phone is already going to ship with pricey 5G components, so Apple has chosen this new route to offset the price increase.

Apple is now choosing to sell the accessories separately and will replace the standard 5W charger with a 20W charger with USB-C power delivery. The current 5W and 18W chargers will be discontinued, with the iPhone 12 only shipping with a USB to lighting cable.

Why would Apple choose this route? Apart from “keeping the price point low” it could be a move to push iPhone customers to use its wireless AirPods. Already, its accessories business is pulling in billions and with this new move could see it rake in even more but we could be wrong. Why do you think about Apple shipping the iPhone 12 minus accessories? Leave us a comment.
