    The Honor 9X is Huawei’s first phones with pop-up selfie cameras

    Huawei has a sub-brand called Honor that has today announced their its first phones to come with pop-up selfie cameras. The Honor 9X and 9X Pro come with side-mounted fingerprint sensors, and feature entirely bezel-less displays, this means no display notches or hole-punches.

    According to Android Authority that the Honor 9X will release in China on later this month with prices starting at $203, while the 9X Pro will come later on August 9th starting at $320 depending on the configuration.

    If we look at the internals of these phones, they both use Huawei’s new Kirin 810 chipset, which was first seen on the Nova 5 Pro last month and is the company’s second 7nm chipset. The 9X starts with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, while the Honor 9X Pro starts with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The rear camera setups of the two devices also differ: the Honor 9X Pro has a triple-camera array with an extra ultra-wide sensor compared to the dual cameras on the 9X. You’ll find a 16-megapixel sensor atop each phone’s pop-up selfie camera.

    The Max and the Honor 9X feature the same 6.59-inch 1080p LCD display, a huge 4,000mAh battery, and headphone jacks and use USB-C ports. These are not flagship phones as seen from the specs but they are capable midrange device similar to its predecessor, the Honor 8X.

    Huawei has not yet communicated if these if, these two phones will launch outside of China. The Honor 8X came to Europe just over a month after it debuted in Huawei’s home country. With the current unresolved issues between Huawei and the US, it’s not certain whether the Honor 9X will be released outside of China.
