Behold, the Tecno Spark 2 is finally here. We made some predictions about the Spark 2 when it made rounds in the rumour mills. The Spark 2 didn’t get the glamorous launch like the Camon X and Camon X Pro did. However, the Spark 2 packs awesome features that are worthy of all your attention. What we expected of the device from rumour-land was just the tip of the iceberg!
At last, we have our hands on the Spark 2 and there is a lot about it that the rumours didn’t reveal. This device has drawn a good number of followers (and critics) over the past few weeks with an interesting marketing campaign. Now we have the hardware (and software) to look at for ourselves and see how things stack up. As always, we’ll be bringing more in-depth coverage of the Tecno Spark 2 in the review after we spend more quality time with it.

First Impressions of the Spark 2
We’d be lying if we said the design of the Spark 2 didn’t remind us of the Infinix S3. But when you think about it, it makes sense considering Tecno and Infinix are from one parent company. That isn’t a bad thing though, because the Spark 2 has clearly refined the idea of the S3 to have lesser bezels, more ergonomic, a slimmer profile and an overall slimmed down chassis. Not to mention, a lower price.
The Tecno Spark 2 looks and feels great. Actually, the rumours didn’t have our expectations set too high for the quality of the phone when it’s in our hands. The plastic back cover — rightfully adorned with “TECNO” and “SPARK” branding — tapers off to the edges perfectly. Plastic may sound cheap but the Spark 2 has a great feel and makes you think that this phone costs a fortune. The 6 inch full display is almost bezel-less. The design is complete and focuses on what’s needed more than gimmicky design selling points.
Bright photography is the Spark 2’s business, both cameras are really exciting. The back camera is a solo 13MP camera with a triple LED ring flash while the selfie camera is an 8MP shooter with dual LED flash. We couldn’t help but be amazed at how bright and colourful the photos were. Both cameras take detailed bright pictures. We shall dive further into Tecno Spark 2’s bright camera and mixed flash in the review.
The Spark 2 is snappy thanks to Android Go edition —though we’re going to reserve total judgement until we spend our daily lives with the phone.
The battery excited us especially because it charges up faster. The Spark 2 has Xcharge which can boost the juic from 0 to 40% in about 20 minutes. Awesome! The battery is strong and was able to go through a normal day. However, we shall push it to the limit to see how it holds up when we make the review.
Price and where to buy.

After a few hours of moving through the interface and holding this 6 inch Spark 2 in our hands, we can say we’re pleasantly surprised about it. But whether or not it truly lives up to the #LightUp hypebeast will take more time to evaluate
