Tecno Camon 19 Pro first impressions: Impressive on the go!

It is not an everyday occasion for a mid-range smartphone to stand out in both design and performance. The Camon 19 Pro does. The latest TECNO flagship device recently received two 2022 iF Design Awards for its unique build and display.

Is it worth it? We simply have to wait for a full review before answering that. In the meantime, we have had the device for a short while now and here are the very first impressions.

    The Design

TECNO’s capability to combine high-performance, high-value smartphones with stunning designs for young fashionistas is no longer a doubt, with the launch of the Camon 19 Pro.

The device has 0.98 millimetres, one of the thinnest bezels in the industry, as it expands the visual range of its display. The unique build goes on with the dual-ring triple-camera layout, which elaborates the perfect balance between the camera and back panel aesthetic.

Then the diamond dazzling coating of 200 million crystals on the backshell; providing a premium texture that avoids fingerprint smudges. A fashionista would not, by any chance, be disappointed by what the device that the 19 Pro has to offer.

When it comes to the display, the Camon 19 Pro offers a 6.8-inch Full HD+ LTPS display with a 120Hz refresh rate along with a punch-hole cutout design to make some room for the selfie camera sensor.

    The Cameras

Speaking of the cameras, we know it well that Camons are built for photography.

The Tecno Camon 19 Pro, without differing in any way, comes with new technologies such as RGBW sensor technology with a high-clear crystal glass lens, which allows users to capture brighter and clearer photos, especially at night.

At the rear is a triple rear setup with the combination of a 64-megapixel primary camera sensor, accompanied by a dual 2-megapixel camera sensor and an LED flash. At the front, the smartphone offers a 16-megapixel camera sensor for selfies and video calls.

We shall go into the details of the camera performance in our full review of the device.

    Under the hood

The Camon 19 Pro is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 810 chipset, clubbed with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. There’s an ability to expand the RAM up to 5GB and use 13GB of RAM on the phone thanks to Memory fusion technology.

In terms of stability, the 19 Pro packs a massive 5,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging support – enough to run the device on a full day’s work. The phone runs on Android 12 on top of HiOS 8.6 and has proven to be a great performer for heavily loaded applications.

This, added with a Wide Color Gamut and a 120 Hertz refresh rate, gives you a stunning viewing experience with superb clarity, brightness, and color accuracy, no matter when users are playing a game or watching videos.

Impressed yet? We shall give you the full details of the smartphone’s performance and why it is a great upgrade in our full review coming soon.
