Technology Hub Hive Colab Upgrades to 100Mbps

Hive Colab boasts of being the first ever and the leading technology hub in Uganda, with innovators mainly depending on internet to run their businesses. The hub acquired more space in 2018 which meant more startups joining the community and thus need for increased internet bandwidth to serve the growing community.

This week Hive Colab partnered with SEACOM for a dedicated unlimited internet upgrade from 20Mbps to a whooping 100Mbps! We can’t verify how much this has cost the tech hub but we believe this will go a long way in facilitating and driving innovators and developers in leveraging the internet and creating impact in this country.

Hive Colab aims at empowering youth, building her immediate community, tapping talent early and consequently joining hands with everyone in the ecosystem to change the world.

This is being done through incubating startups and supporting them right from idea level to when the businesses are self sufficient and competent enough to compete favorably in the market today.

Early this year, Uganda’s first technology hub, opened another branch in Mbarara located at 3rd Floor Easy View Complex next to APA Insurance. Hive Colab Mbarara has seating capacity of almost 50 people in the open space, dedicated tables, and high speed internet in a conducive working environment. Programmes include structured incubation with business development services, an accelerator, ideation hackathons, coding boot camps, Inter-University Innovation Challenge and more. The goal of this expansion was to be able to support innovators and creators of employment in the ICT sector in the region.
