Taxify could qualify for an award for its rampant price revisions over the course of its existence in Kampala which stretches less than a year.. These are as recent as December 2017 then January 2018 and as we head to February, we have yet again seen another price revision.

Today’s price revision has only affected the Base and Per Minute fares while the Per Kilometer rate and Minimum fare have remained the same as were the case in early January. The price increase is of 10% on the Base fare and 36.4% for the Per Minute rate bringing the Base Fare to UGX 1100 from the previous UGX 1000 and the Per Minute fare to UGX 150 from the previous UGX 110

What has led to today’s price revision is still unknown since Taxify provides no reason. It however emphasizes that it will compensate its drivers with bonuses for their earnings to remain strong. Could it be the increase in fuel prices leading to this in abid to satisfy its driver partners or it could even be beyond that? We shall provide the details as they unwrap.
