As the number of those infected with the coronavirus keep increasing, (currently at 33 people as when this article was written) Ugandans are innovating to show some support for each other during these trying times of social distancing and quarantine. A couple of software developers led by Felix Kitaka @felix_kitaka have come up with a staysafeug web application (website) that you could find useful.
While speaking to Techjaja Felix told us that;
We have been working on the past couple of days. We realized that because people are staying home, they are mostly seeing each other’s faces through their profile pictures – on the different social media platforms. We then noticed that the profile picture could be utilized for a good cause.
With the staysafeug web-app, you can just upload their preferred picture onto the site, select the language of their preference, enter a supporting message of their preference and that it, you will get your staysafeug image as a result.

Felix developed the web application with is colleagues, Mugambe Luganda for the Graphics and Gordon K. Katungi who did the User Experience you see below.

He further told techjaja;
Our app makes it easy for one to upload their profile picture and frame it with a frame that we have specifically created for Uganda. Our hope is that the frame will be on every Ugandan’s profile picture as a symbol of our unity in the fight against the coronavirus.
The app can be found at https://www.staysafeug.com
