“The MTN Kampala Marathon is now both an iconic sporting event in Uganda and a special day of fundraising for a good cause. This is in-line with Stanbic Bank’s purpose of moving our communities and Uganda forward. We have a special partnership with MTN and are delighted to continue our sponsorship of the marathon for the foreseeable future” said Patrick Mweheire, Chief Executive, Stanbic Bank.

Speaking at the handover, MTN Uganda Chief Executive Officer Brian Gouldie hailed Stanbic Bank for being one of the longest standing partners in the sponsorship of MTN Kampala Marathon. “This year, once again MTN is privileged to partner with Stanbic Bank and other key sponsors including; the Vision Group, Huawei, Rwenzori, and the Uganda Athletics Federation. We appreciate the fact that participation in the MTN Kampala Marathon has been steadily growing in terms of numbers. People run in the marathon for a number of reasons; to challenge themselves to fulfill a personal sense of achievement but also to contribute towards a worthy cause”, said Gouldie.
