The social media awards 2015 will go down in the records to show how far Uganda has come to hosting great and well machinated events. In a colourful and magnificent ceremony that took place at Golf course hotel–thanks to the organizers Blu Flamingo — this year’s awards will go down in history as one of the best organized award ceremonies in 2015.
NTV Uganda did it yet again and walked away with two accolades, one for best Innovation for their NTV Mobi app and media outlet of the year. Telecom giants MTN and Airtel managed to scoop awards for best social media campaign and brand of the year respectively.
Former Prime Minister Amama Mbabazi won the award of the most influential person on social media. Blogger of the year award went to fabled writer Ernest Bazanye and the the creators of very popular comic animation Katoto scooped the Best YouTube channel award. Rapper Ruyonga and Nigerian’s vocal sensation Tiwa Savage entertained the crowds to everyone’s satisfaction.
