Samsung’s latest foldable smartphones, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6, have arrived with modest upgrades but a notable increase in price. Starting at $1,899 and $1,099 respectively, these devices offer incremental improvements in durability, performance, and software features.
Galaxy Z Fold 6
Both the Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 are powered by a customized Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, promising enhanced performance and efficiency. Samsung has also extended its software support, guaranteeing seven years of OS and security updates for both devices. Durability has also seen minor improvements, with claims of better drop resistance due to refined hinge design and materials. Additionally, the inner flexible glass is touted as more durable, and both phones now boast an IP48 rating, offering protection against foreign objects larger than 1mm.
The Z Fold 6’s outer screen has been slightly widened to 6.3 inches, addressing previous concerns about its narrow dimensions. While the inner display remains at 7.6 inches, the phone is now lighter at 239 grams. The camera hardware is largely unchanged, except for an updated 12-megapixel ultrawide lens with improved low-light capabilities.
Galaxy Z Flip 6
The Z Flip 6 retains the 3.4-inch cover screen but introduces a larger 4,000mAh battery and a vapor cooling chamber, a first for the Flip series. It also features the same 50-megapixel main camera as the Fold 6 and base S24 models, along with the new ultrawide camera. The base model now comes with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.

Both phones incorporate the full suite of AI features introduced with the S24 series, with Samsung highlighting the Z Fold 6’s large inner screen as ideal for utilizing these capabilities. A new “sketch to image” feature enables AI-powered image generation from S Pen doodles, and interpreter mode has been enhanced to leverage the foldable form factor for better translations.
