Samsung unveils true 8 core processor for smartphones and tablets

Samsung has announced the latest brush up to its Exynos 5 chipsets.  The new Exynos 5 Octa big. LITTLE HMP chip (that you likely have in your Galaxy S4 phone) can now run on all of its cores at the same time. This means all the eight cores run simultaneously without skipping a beat. The processor you have in your current Samsung phone or tablet works in such a way in that you could either have four low-power Cortex-A7cores for low priority tasks, or the four high-performance Cortex-A15cores for high priority tasks.

Samsung hopes to deploy the new Exynos 5 Octa big. LITTLE HMP by in Q4 of this year. If the hardware is the same with the existing octa-core processors, we hope Samsung will push through an update for them as well.
