As Samsung plans on releasing the highly anticipated Galaxy Fold in the coming weeks, there seems to be relief for those that find the $2000 price a far-fetch. Since the initial introduction early this year, we have had hopes raised and sunk, after the device was taken back to the production line following reports of a ripping screen.
A limited number of early Galaxy Fold samples were provided to media for review. Apparently, there was a wrap on top of the screen of the Galaxy Fold calling for user attention on the issue, and asking them not to peel off the protective layer. Probably the reviewers were inquisitive and tried to find out what happens when you peel it off.
Numerous complaints then came in stating that the screen was breaking and causing breaks in the functioning. This would delay the scheduled April launch and Samsung went on to rebuild the gadget that is apparently ready for launch.
News around the corner is that the company could be working on new foldable smartphone with different form factors as well as a more affordable model. The catch for opting for a less priced Galaxy Fold could similarly imply opting for lower internal storage.
The $2000 Galaxy Fold possesses 512GB of internal storage and reports note that the model in the pipeline, numbered SM-F700F, will come with 256GB of internal storage. Beyond the memory size, we do not have any further knowledge about the affordable Galaxy Fold.
Probably then, the interest in buying the new Galaxy Fold could go up, and this could as well prompt other manufacturers to try out making foldable smartphones. We shall keep on the watch and be sure to be updated.
