Samsung Galaxy S20 series prices in Uganda can ‘break the bank’

Early this month, Samsung unveiled three new phones– the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20 Plus and the largest Galaxy S20 Ultra, but the Samsung S20 Series prices in Uganda can break the bank depending on your income. Despite the number change from, the two phones look pretty similar to last year’s Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10 Plus, but with one major change: the huge revamped camera modules and less curved screens depending on the model that tickles your fancy.

The improvements to efficiency to the new Samsung devices, the Galaxy S20 plus has better battery life than last year’s S10 with over 4,500 mAhs, and the larger S20 Ultra will get you a humongous 5,000 mAhs better battery than the S10 plus.

Paying for a good Galaxy s20 screen and 108 megapixel camera

Each phone has an OLED HDR+ display that supports a 120Hz refresh rate. Interestingly, Samsung says it isn’t bothering trying to dynamically adjust that rate depending on what the screen is doing. It’s just a switch between 60Hz and 120Hz. The company claimed to me that setting it to the higher rate would only cause a 10 percent dip in battery life.

The new camera system of the S20 series especially the S20 Ultra is one of the standout upgrades. Looking at the internals of this zoom on the Galaxy S20 Ultra, Samsung is relying on a “folded” 4x telephoto lens behind the hole in the back of the phone, which it’s combining with a 48-megapixel sensor. Then, between 4x and 10x zoom, the phone offers what Samsung is calling a “lossless hybrid optic” zoom, which relies on a combination of sensor cropping and binning where multiple pixels are combined into one big pixel. The use of the word “lossless” implies that Samsung doesn’t think you’ll see any loss of quality up to 10x zoom. Then, between 10x and 100x zoom, the phone is using similar methods, but it’s a digital zoom that will inevitably mean less detail as the zoom increases.

The S20 Ultra’s main camera has an incredibly high-resolution 108-megapixel sensor, compared to the 40-megapixel sensor on the Huawei and 48-megapixel on the Oppo. The two sensors combined give Samsung’s handset access to more data, which could potentially result in more detailed images.

With this and all other features of the Galaxy S20 all these phones come with hefty prices. You can buy the Samsung Galaxy S20, S20 Plus, and S20 Ultra right now on Samsung.com and these are. Here are the various prices of the different models in Uganda (tax exclusive.)
