Recently, Flipboard announced that it had identified unauthorized access to some of the platform’s databases containing account information and credentials. It was found that an unauthorized person “accessed and potentially obtained copies of certain databases containing Flipboard user information between June 2, 2018 and March 23, 2019 and April 21 – 22, 2019.”
The good news is, not all Flipboard users’ accounts were affected in the incident. The company says that it is still identifying the actual accounts involved but has reset all user passwords and replaced or deleted all digital tokens.
However, to be on the safe side of it all, you need to reset your password to ensure that all your account details and confidential information is kept secure. Here is how to go about it.

If you connected your Flipboard account to a third-party account, including social media accounts, then the databases may have contained digital tokens used to connect your Flipboard account to that third-party account. The company says that they already replaced or deleted all digital tokens to eliminate any possibility of misuse.
For instance, if you use Twitter/Google/Facebook to log into your Flipboard account, your password is not stored in the platform database and the digital tokens have been rotated.
