    Reach A Hand, Uganda unveils the SAUTIplus mobile app

    Reach A Hand, Uganda (RAHU) at the end of last week launched the new look of its SAUTIplus mobile application. The app, which is a replica of the site built for the young people, helps them get to access accurate and reliable information about their Sexual and Reproductive Health as well as their rights in a convenient manner.

    It is designed in such a way that it “employs a youthful language, colour and themes to make it contemporary to the young audience and a dependable reference point regarding SRHR issues”.

    The app seeks to bridge the gap and help young people understand and safely exercise their Reproductive Health Rights. Additionally, it provides referrals to Youth friendly health services thus reducing the stigma associated with young people and sexual reproductive focused health visits.

    In this, it allows the youth to discover health centers they are comfortable to go to for stigma free Sexual and Reproductive Health & Rights services. The app also provides a safe space where young people can ask and have questions about their sexual reproductive health answered.

    The SAUTIplus application is now available for download on the Google Play store.

    At the same event, RAHU also launched the latest season of its MTV Shuga Down South series, which uses sexual-health messaging to explore the issues of sexual relationships between young people against a backdrop of continuing HIV infections.

    The Series looks to the topics that relate around the issues of unplanned pregnancy and HIV/AIDS within Africa and other issues affecting the youth such as abusive relationships, sexual assault, among others.
