Well now that both Apple and Google have unveiled their flagship smartphones and put our big wait to an end, let’s take a tour of their individual devices that is the iPhone 11 and the Pixel 4 and see how they compete up against each other via specifications, the camera and not forgetting the pocket damage.
The Google Pixel 4, probably the most leaked smartphone of 2019 was released recently, barely a month after the iPhone 11. We can at least agree that these have been some of the most hyped smartphones all year long and trust me they didn’t quite disappoint. Both are both amazing phones from both world(s) but let’s take a deeper look at their specifications.

The Cameras
Both phones offer high-quality cameras that are better at taking photos in various circumstances especially the dark than their predecessors.
Google Pixel 4 has two cameras: one telephoto lens and one standard lens. One lens has a 16-megapixel sensor, while the other has a 12.2-megapixel sensor.
Apple’s iPhone 11 also has two cameras, each with a 12-megapixel sensor. But the second camera on the iPhone 11 is an ultra-wide-angle camera that offers a significantly wider field of view of 120 degrees.
The iPhone 11 Pro has a triple camera system that includes a standard, ultra-wide, and telephoto lens with deep fusion that captures nine images that is four short images, four secondary images, and one long exposure.
Google, however, spent more time discussing Pixel 4’s software-based photography features rather than its hardware. The company showcased new computational photography features that will be available on the Pixel 4, such as a feature that shows HDR+ updates in real-time rather than after taking the photo, controls for adjusting exposure in separate parts of the photo, and improved Night Sight performance than can capture images of a starry night sky.
And Pricing
The biggest and most noticeable difference is price. It’s clear that Google is looking at putting price pressure on Apple especially with the larger Pixel 4XL compared to the iPhone 11 Pro Max. However, we have our reservations when it comes to the Pixel 4 against the iPhone 11 since the latter retails for $100 less than the former.
The Google Pixel 4 will go for about UGX 3,000,000 and the XL for UGX 3,400,000 compared to the iPhone 11 and Pro Max that go for about UGX 2,500,000 and UGX 4,100,000 in the US. This of course goes up after adding taxes and shipping fees from wherever you’re buying from.
The question is, which of the four would you opt for?
