    Let’s find out.

You ought to know that when your Pay TV decoder is stolen, it is not just the set top box and smart card in it that you have lost; you need to account for your account details too. Someone can use these to do anything abnormal for their benefit.

So, what is the way forward as soon as you realize the theft of the decoder?

    Report to the Police

The first thing to do is to report the stolen asset to the nearest Police station. While the hopes of recovering the device might be slim, Police can never the less help you to try in the recovery process. And with the newly installed CCTV cameras already at work, you could maybe catch the thief.

But the main reason for reporting to the police is to obtain a letter that confirms the loss, a copy of which you take – together with a copy of your valid ID – to any of the Pay TV’s service branches. It is from here that the company blocks that decoder so that the thief can not use it in anyway.

Can the Pay TV recover the decoder?

No, you will not be able to get back the decoder or your account details again once the device is confirmed to be lost. The best thing that the company can do is to block your account so that it is not used by the thief.

Maybe, you can go ahead and purchase a new decoder to enjoy the services yet again.
