Unfortunately, the Nyege Nyege app is for only Android user, the 52 MB app can be downloaded for free from Google Play Store. It clearly shows the festival program, Map, Stages, performing acts and in festival experiences are a finger tap away with an in app scheduler to help you map out your experience.

The app also features the performing acts’ bios with links to their music and social platforms like Twitter, Facebook and Instagram more so as the party goers and get their hashtag on. Users can also filter performers best on preference i.e selecting the performance time of acts specific to one country. Notifications can be set within the App for performance times.

The Nyege Nyege Festival is happening from the 5th to 8th of September at the Nile Discovery Beach in Njeru, Jinja. We shall definitely use this app and try it out while at the venue and try out all the features that come bundled in.

According to the app developer, “Nyege Nyege stands for PEACE, LOVE, and abundant JOY, for UNDERGROUND MUSIC and musicians in AFRICA, from Africa or with a deep interest in getting to know the Continent better, it stands for FUN and CURIOSITY and pushing boundaries always with a sense INCLUSIVITY and an invitation to WONDER. For those 4 days at least, they really want you to have the best time of your LIFE and DISCOVER UGANDA, the PEARL OF AFRICA “

Born out of an act of sheer collective madness in the rainy season of 2015 (after which it moved to the dry season…), Nyege Nyege Festival is now considered the most important 4-day international music festival in East Africa for both its one of a kind curation and its unique East African party vibe.
