Orange Uganda scandal laid to rest, it’s now business as usual

Last week was full of drama with Orange Uganda minority shareholders spilling to the public a lot of the dirty linen of the Leading Data provider in Uganda . One of the minority shareholders was against the idea of increasing their share capital which had instituted legal proceedings to stop the capital increase. Techjaja has now been reliably informed that all that has been laid to rest as per yesterday’s judgement where the court ruled  in favor of Orange Uganda leaving the minority share holder in grief.

A Board of Directors meeting is scheduled for the coming weeks to discuss the way forward in the best
interests of the company, its employees and its customers.

“That notwithstanding, I would like to re-assure staff that France Telecom is committed to keeping Orange Uganda Limited operational and you should not be alarmed by reports in the media. I am confident that Orange Uganda is in an extremely strong position to compete even better once this issue has been resolved.”
