Optimum Uganda is a new US-based communications and media company that wants to connect Uganda that comes in to compete with the big guys like MTN, Roke Telkom, Liquid Telecom, and more.

Optimum Uganda internet speeds and pricing
Just like most ISPs, Optimum Uganda offers home internet with both shared and dedicated data bundles. It has shared 5 data packages including; Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Cooperate with speeds of up to 5 Mbps, 10 Mbps, 15 Mbps, and Mbps respectively. This means the data speeds are not guaranteed to always be at their peak. The infat company’s dedicated internet costs $60 per Mb which is $10 cheaper than Roke Telecom’s similar offering. There is a one-time installation fee of UGX 350,000.

The Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Cooperate bundles are unlimited and cost UGX 129,000, UGX 200,000, 278,000 and 347,000 respectively. It is unlimited in the sense that there is no data throttling for the full 30 days. Optimum Uganda also has a full online TV service that reportedly has over 800 High Definition Channels, that costs UGX 70,000 per month subscription fee, however there are no clear data plans for this. There is also no coverage map on their website which makes it hard for anyone to make a buying decision with less information.
