Within the past two months after the launch of GPTs, OpenAI seems to be flying; with over 3 million customized versions of ChatGPT already created by users. Now, the company is taking the next big step by introducing the GPT Store to ChatGPT Plus, Team, and Enterprise users, providing a platform to discover, share, and utilize countless GPTs.
What’s in the Store?
The GPT Store features a diverse array of GPTs crafted by both OpenAI’s partners and the thriving community.
Users can explore a variety of categories such as DALL·E, writing, research, programming, education, and lifestyle. The community leaderboard showcases the most popular and trending GPTs, allowing users to stay on top of the latest innovations.
New featured GPTs every week
OpenAI is committed to highlighting useful and impactful GPTs, ensuring users stay at the forefront of AI capabilities.
Some of the initial featured GPTs include personalized trail recommendations from AllTrails, the ability to search and synthesize results from 200 million academic papers with Consensus, expanding coding skills with Khan Academy’s Code Tutor, designing presentations or social posts with Canva, finding the next compelling read with Books, and learning math and science anytime, anywhere with the CK-12 Flexi AI tutor.
How to contribute your GPT to the Store
OpenAI encourages users to become contributors by sharing their own GPTs in the store. Building a personalized GPT is made simple and doesn’t require any coding skills.
To share a GPT, users need to save it for Everyone (as GPTs with public links will not be shown in the store) and verify their Builder Profile by enabling their name or a verified website.
OpenAI emphasizes the importance of adhering to usage policies and GPT brand guidelines, introducing a new review system, which includes both human and automated reviews, to ensure compliance.
In an exciting development slated for Q1, OpenAI will launch a GPT builder revenue program. Builders, particularly those in the United States, will be eligible for compensation based on user engagement with their GPTs. OpenAI plans to provide detailed criteria for payments as the launch date approaches.
Team and Enterprise Management of GPTs
OpenAI is expanding its offerings with the introduction of the ChatGPT Team plan, tailored for teams of all sizes. Team customers gain access to a private section of the GPT Store, allowing secure publication of GPTs within their workspace.
Soon to follow, the GPT Store will be made available to ChatGPT Enterprise customers, complete with enhanced admin controls. These controls will empower businesses to manage the sharing of internal-only GPTs and determine which external GPTs are permissible for use within the organization.
