Multinational e-commerce platform OLX that has revamped its website in a bid to improve its customer relations and user experience, as much as the service was once only available to app users. The new redefined OLX design is dedicated to suit both desktop and mobile users as it is now a purple brand.

Through the new OLX website and fully updated app. Buyers and sellers now have a secure point of communication. In addition to the easy to use interface, the website features a set of fresh new functions users can perform. Raging from a newly updated profile page to effective ads management. Nevertheless, here is a dose of OLX’s new features.
Safety
While many users have always termed OLX as a ”by chance” platform to interact with buyers or sellers. The eBay like platform has come out to address all safety issues as many buyers have always fallen victim to fraudsters and wannabe sellers on the platform.
Through the old OLX website, purchasing an item was not secure as it was easy to get a sell number process. However, with the new safety mechanisms with in the new website, all users are required to login before accessing the seller’s number or contacting them in any way. More so, the platform now has a security flag system where buyers can flag any fake sellers.

New buyer and seller Profiles
User profiling has become a new mechanism in which various services and websites tend to identify its legal users. Just like the story is with Jumia and Kilimall which both offer similar services to OLX. The new updated OLX website now requires buyers to have profiles. Away from the old high buyer prioritizing, sellers will now have the opportunity to identify and know whether the users in need of their products are what they claim they are.
The new OLX user profiles can now be linked with an already existing social media profile or Google account. However, buyers will be required to confirm their identity so as through more verification methods away from the previous situation where buyers could simply download the app or visit the desktop version.
Effective Advertising and User reporting
Flagging suspicious users and Ads is always a key feature any multi-user platform opts to have. While social media giant Facebook and Twitter have this feature active and very effective. OLX’s new Flag feature will allow buyers to report any suspicious accounts or ADs. More so, a fraudster (seller) may post a non-existent Item to simply phish buyers attention.
Cruising into its new user interface and dashboard. The new effective flag features will see buyers and sellers conveniently transact on Uganda’s number 1 marketplace. In addition to the new AD and user flagging feature. Any reported accounts will have their access revoked and banned from using the platform.
The new OLX design is here to bridge the gap between buyers and sellers, giving everyone an opportunity to get high quality used products on the platform. Therefore, as OLX at one time planned to shut down its operations in Uganda. The newly updated platform will give buyers the assurance of buying with ease and trust.
