The next Nexus 5 (2015), or Nexus 5 (second generation), is rumored to be one of the two Google Nexus flagship smartphones expected to arrive in late September or early October 2015. We know that LG will build one 2015 Nexus while other, increasingly convincing, rumors continue to point to a second, Huawei Nexus 6 (2015). Here’s everything we know about the LG Nexus 5 (2015).

Today we get to see a white prototype version of the phone’s back flaunting a NOT FOR SALE  label with some blurred out QR -code phone details and model number. If this picture is to be believed, the next Nexus 5 (2015)’s camera will slightly stick out from the back of the phone, with the camera flash and what looks like a laser-autofocus beside them. The circular metallic ring is most likely to be a fingerprint scanner since the new version of Android (Android M) now officially has finger print support. It will also have a USB Type-C port on the bottom, front-facing speakers and a matte rear. You can check out the full spec sheet below.

    • Up to 4 GB RAM

    • 3180 mAh non-removable battery

    • Rear power button with integrated fingerprint sensor
    • 13 MP rear camera
    • 4 MP front camera with iris detection
    • USB Type-C connector with QuickCharge 2.0

It doesn’t look like a particularly exciting handset right now, but then neither does the original Nexus 5. Its real value is likely to lie in its price/performance ratio. Google is expected to announce the new Nexus 5 alongside Android Pay in October.
