NaaS: Airtel Uganda’s New Service Makes Business Networking Easy and Affordable

Imagine running a business without worrying about setting up or maintaining complicated internet networks. That’s now possible in Uganda, thanks to Airtel Uganda’s new Network as a Service (NaaS), launched on June 18, 2025, in partnership with Cisco, a global tech giant known for its networking expertise.

This service, unveiled at a lively event at Kampala Serena Hotel, is like renting a ready-to-use, high-quality network instead of building one from scratch. Businesses—whether a small startup in Bugolobi or a big company operating across East Africa—can now focus on growth, customers, and innovation without getting bogged down by technical headaches.

Here’s how it works in simple terms: NaaS is a subscription-based service, much like paying for Netflix or a phone plan. Instead of buying expensive equipment or hiring IT experts to manage networks, businesses get access to a secure, fast, and flexible network that’s fully managed by Airtel and powered by Cisco’s top-notch technology. Need more bandwidth for a big project? No problem—it scales up easily. Worried about hackers? The service includes built-in security features like firewalls and encryption to keep data safe.

Airtel’s Network Director, Rajesh Agarwal, explained, “We want businesses to do what they’re great at, like serving customers or creating new ideas, not stressing over IT setups.” Cisco’s Javed Johar added, “This service gives businesses a smart, secure network that’s easy to use, so their teams can focus on what drives success.”

NaaS also offers 24/7 support, meaning help is always available if something goes wrong. It’s designed to fit Uganda’s needs, supporting everyone from local entrepreneurs to large corporations, and it’s part of Airtel’s mission to boost the country’s digital economy.

In short, Airtel Uganda’s NaaS is a game-changer, making advanced networking simple, affordable, and accessible for businesses, helping them thrive in today’s digital world.
