MultiChoice Uganda has made several changes as their subscribers try to cope with the COVID-19 pandemic. Not only are they reducing the constant TV repeats, but also supporting all national safety precautions among other things. The business is helping customers adhere to these measures by providing a host of self-service options during the lockdown. MultiChoice Uganda has put in place a number of actions to respond to the Covid-19 crisis. They include:
Automatically Upgrading your TV package
With effect from 20th April, MultiChoice Uganda has given its GOtv customers a content update in the GOtv Mwebale Nnyo offers. Customers will now have access to view the packages above what they have paid for (for example if you pay for DStv Family, you will get to see DStv Compact content). This applies for their already active customers, as well as those who are making payments from 20th April going forward.
MultiChoice Uganda estimates that these offers sum up to an almost 40% discount across the board for our customers. As much as possible, the company is consistently striving to absorb as much operating costs possible to bring their customers the best value. Subcription prices for the different packages remain as below;
• DStv Premium – 219,000
• DStv Compact Plus – 129,000
• DStv Compact – 79,000
• DStv Family – 49,000
• GOtv Max – 39,000
• GOtv Plus – 26,000
• GOtv Value – 16,000
• GOtv Lite – 11,000
MultiChoice Uganda says that its consistently trying to absorb all operational costs to bring our customers the best value. They are not able to give free subscriptions at this time, but they company has launched the “DStv Tweyanziza” and GOtv “Mwebale Nnyo” offers for their subscribers with effect from 20th April 2020.
These offers are their gestures to give MultiChoice Uganda customers even more value during this difficult time. The company giving DStv and GOtv customers access to all the channels available on the next higher package from their current one on condition they pay their current subscription in full.

Protecting their staff
Multichoice Uganda has not announced any lay offs, and they have committed to we continues employing their existing staff. The company is taking the following measures have been taken towards their MultiChoice Uganda staff.
Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, MultiChoice Uganda has since shifted many of its staff members to work from home. A few staff members, with permission from the Ugandan government due to MultiChoice Uganda falling under the essential media companies, are still operating their key business functions. These staff have been provided with the necessary PPE’s (masks, gloves, sanitizers, as well as temperature guns).
