    MUK unveils a pioneer Makerere University Mobile Application

    Makerere University last week unveiled a pioneer Makerere University Mobile Application that will provide  information about the services and functionality of the university at the fingertips of the students. The Android App that was released on the Google Play store last week was designed and developed by the University’s Quality Assurance Directorate (QAD) and Directorate of Information and communication technology (DICT), and was funded by the Swedish International development Agency (SIDA).

    The Makerere University Mobile Application will serve as a window to general information about the university and also provided some specific information shall be accessible to only the students and the staff. It will also help students get a quick follow up on their financial statements, research work, and any other events that may happen around campus.

    University workers will also be able to trace the rightful information about their employees; whether the person has been part of the university or not. Also, other people who have been part of the university like the alumni, would be able to keep in touch with events at the institution.

    The 2.6 MB app comprises among other options; courses, My MAK, Grad Track, Admission, Cut offs, Rooms, Authors, Guild, Equipment, News, and Colleges. The Makerere University Mobile Application can be freely downloaded from Google Play store, a mobile application digital distribution platform operated by Google for devices running on the Android Operating System.
