Yesterday we woke up to a shocker about the deportation of senior MTN staffers that included its Chief Marketing Office, Olivier Prentout and its head of sales , Annie Bilenge Tabura over allegations that police labelled as national security threats.
Before the dust could settle, MTN Uganda’s General Manager Mobile Financial Services, Miss Elisa Musolini has also been summoned by police’s special investigations division on allegations of inciting violence contrary to laws that govern this country.

What police doesn’t detail however are reasons why senior MTN staff are being arrested and then deported, but the fronted reasons only relate compromise of national security and now inciting violence which more or less undermine national security.
It is also alleged that MTN’s CEO and Chief Legal Counsel were summoned to answer for why their employees could be involved in subversive activities.
However, we can only wait for police comments on what exactly could have led to these deportations and now summons, to get a clear background on what exactly prompted this.
Correction: Miss Elisa Musolini's title has been corrected from Chief Finance officer to General Manager Mobile Financial Services
