    MTN warns against the “122GB Data Grant for COVID” scam

    As people try to look for money in all corners, there are a lot of scams going around on different social media platforms including WhatsApp and Facebook. In a tweet, MTN has noted that there has been a fake data promotion running on Social Media and the Internet dubbed MTN 122GB Data Grant for COVID. The fake promotion claims that MTN is giving out 122GB to customers.

    MTN Uganda has cautioned its subscribers to stay away from this fake promotion. In this promotion, unsuspecting customers are asked to fill out a form with personal information. After they send this information, they are legible to get the 122GB worth of MTN mobile internet data. It is believed that these scammers want to use people’s personal information for fraudulent activities in the future. Moreso, there is a 100 percent chance that they will not even get the promised data bundles.

    Customers should note that MTN promotions are announced on their social media platforms including Twitter, Facebook and Instagram or on their website.
