MTN unveils data bundles that never expire

    Freedom for all data users

As telecom companies in Uganda struggle to differentiate their mobile internet products, MTN has today unveiled data bundles that never expire. This has been one of the top requests for customers as they have repeatedly complained about losing their unused MBs.

MTN’s new data bundles that never expire usher in a whole new dynamic of data pricing in Uganda thanks to customer feedback. But, instead of making the current bundles non-expiring, the telecom giant has introduced a new set of data bundles that customers can subscribe to enjoy “uncapped time” bundles. You can use these mobile data bundles for as long as you want without fear of being disconnected from the internet as long as the MBs are still there.

The existing mobile data bundles for most telecom companies expire in either period of a day, a week or a month. The new bundle opens up a whole new data experience for users as they will not need to forgo their loaded data. MTN’s new never expiring data bundles include, 6 MB, 80MB and 1GB data priced at UGX 100, UGX 1,000 and UGX 10,000 respectively. Users just have to dial *150*7# to enjoy this new experience.

This has been a long awaited bundle for MTN. Africell recently revamped their data bundle but missed the mark when they never added such data bundles that don’t expire.

In October, MTN Uganda announced the return of its much loved MTN Gaga data bundle and less than 3 months down the road the company has unveiled data bundles that don’t expire. In August this year, MTN silently brought back the famous midweek data campaign known as Gaga Wednesday without any official communications but today they make it official. We wait to see how other telecoms will respond to this new offer.
