    MTN Uganda to change airtime loading and checking balance codes

    After a long battle with the regulator, MTN Uganda has finally scummed to pressure and agreed to harmonize their shortcodes for loading airtime and checking your balance come Sunday, 1st March 2015.

    According to the company’s Facebook page it read in part

    In an effort to improve the user experience of our customers, MTN will be implementing the standard industry codes for loading for airtime and checking balance for all mobile voice customers in Uganda. In line with regulatory requirements, MTN is changing the codes for loading airtime from *155* to *130* and checking airtime balance from *156# to *131#.
