MTN Uganda to carry the Galaxy Alpha A5: Comes with lots of goodies

MTN Uganda has today announced on its twitter page that it will carry the Samsung Galaxy Alpha A5 and it will cost you UGX 1.2 million. We reviewed the Galaxy Alpha early this year, and we found it to be one of the Samsung’s great designed phones. The iPhone look-alike is an ultra-thin (6.7mm) Android phone with a 4.7-inch 720p display, 12-megapixel camera, with a disappointing 1,860mAh battery, and depending on your region the phone will either come with a quad- or octa-core processor.

At UGX 1.2 million, MTN will give you 3GB of free internet (50MB for 60 days), free Micro SIM, Airtime and a free selfie stick. To activate the free internet you will have to dail *160*8#. The Alpha’s design is a mix of Samsung’s Galaxy s5 with a hint of the iPhone. The Alpha also has flat metal sides with chamfered edges, and removable back cover.
