MTN Uganda has cut down on the amount of money you are charged when sending cash to another MTN customer. The telco has announced that effective 17th June, 2019 for a period of 8 weeks, MTN subscribers will be able to send mobile money without the fear of incurring a heavy cost.
In the new rates, you can send mobile money across the network for as low as UGX 50 if you send between UGX 500 and 2,500 from the UGX 100 that was charged initially. Sending between UGX 5,000 and 60,000 would call for a UGX 500 charge; while sending between UGX 60,000 and 7,000,000 will charge you just UGX 1,000.
The new MTN promo comes not so long after Airtel also dipped her charges in the ongoing Sukuma Cash campaign. For the period, Airtel is dropping charges by 60% on money sent to your friends and family to as low as UGX 100 and as much as UGX 1,000. One will be able to send as much as you can to enter a draw in which you could stand a chance to win yourself instant money as well as a trip to Egypt.
The price wars between the two telecom companies is really stiff with the red brand challenging the yellow one to newer heights every other day.
Airtel recently introduced a revamped voice and data bundles in the Mega-Tok and Data Blasta packages respectively which had caused many clients to think of switching. MTN would then respond by bringing on board the Mo bundles option, that gives users double package for data and voice bundles purchased over mobile money.
