MTN Uganda reviews its mobile data rates to give its customers more at the same price

MTN 4G LTE SIM

The ongoing data wars seem to be at the peak, as telecom giant MTN Uganda has reviewed its mobile data rates a head of “Liberation Day” to give its customers more at the same price. This follows the move my Airtel Uganda that recently revised it data rates and in order to stay competitive, MTN Uganda has also made some revisions.

On top of the gaga Wednesdays, now for UGX 500, instead of getting 25MBs you now get 40MB, also for UGX 1,000 you get 100MBs instead of 60 MB. Finally, there is no more 125MB data bundle for UGX 2,000, now you get 300MBs, see details in the tweet below.

But don’t expect so much changes when it comes to MTN, as they have only affected the daily bundles. At the end of it all it is the customer that benefits when these price wars among the telecoms intensify. We’ve seen this already happen in the voice and now data. Whether this will leave the smaller telcos in business is yet to be seen.
