The company’s Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) Olivier Prentout said that this is a gift to clients for their communicant needs, and it comes as part of the brand’s twentieth anniversary celebrations.

The device will enable users to constantly stay online as they keep up with all the action, news and even their work.
MTN Uganda says that the product is a product of “feedback from customers who complained about carrying bulky power banks and Mi-Fis separately, sometimes making their pockets and bags heavy.”

The device packs 4G compatibility, can pick 2G and 3G MTN networks, has a 1.5-inch display, and can connect up to 10 users all on a 5,000 mAh battery that is LTE compatible.
The MTN 2-in-1 Mi-Fi and Powerbank can fully charge a smart phone (as a power-bank) more than twice, making the device a must have for smartphone device owners, individuals working on the move or remotely, students and firms or start-ups that work in small groups or in close proximity who jointly need internet connectivity.

The device retails at only UGX 189,000 and comes packed with 3GB valid for 30 days. It is now readily available at all MTN shops, Banana Shops, partner dealer shops and on Jumia online shopping website. Major phone shops will also stock the devices.
MTN Uganda also introduced an International data roaming plan which will allow travellers load bundled offers for voice, SMS and data so as to access the same communication services abroad just as they did when at home in Uganda.
