Uganda’s behemoth telecom company has rolled out new rates for sending money to Kenya and Rwanda. The yellow company that has roots from South Africa previously rolled out new mobile money rates for making payments. The new rates for sending money to Kenya and Rwanda will also be effective on 20th April, 2018.
MTN Uganda enables its subscribers to directly send and receive money from other countries using their MTN Mobile Money accounts.
The rates for sending money to Kenya and Rwanda are as below;
To send money to Rwanda & Kenya with the new send rates, a user has to simply Dial *165*1*3#.
How to send Money to MTN Rwanda.
You can send money to MTN Rwanda customers directly from your MTN Mobile Money number to an MTN Rwanda customer. The customer should have MTN Mobile Money active.
To send money follow the steps below;
Dial *165*1*3#
Enter the MTN Rwanda customer
Then the amount in UGX
You will get a transaction summary which includes the fee, the forex rate and the amount in Rwandan Francs that will be received.
Enter PIN to confirm.
How to send money to Safaricom MPesa (Kenya).
You can send money to Safaricom MPesa customers directly from your MTN Mobile Money number to Safaricom MPesa number.
To send money follow the steps below;
Dial *165*1*3#
Enter the Safaricom MPesa number
Then the amount in UGX
You will get a transaction summary which includes the fee, the forex rate and the amount in Kenya Shillings that will be received.
Enter PIN to confirm.
MTN Uganda has the largest share of the entire mobile money market in Uganda.
