    MTN and Centenary Bank Launch Mobile Money ATM Withdraw Service

    Today MTN Uganda has expanded on it’s massively used mobile money platform in partnership with Centenary Bank. The new service will enable MTN mobile money users withdraw money from any Centenary bank ATM with their phones and no ATM card required, a service they have achieved with Interswicth recently. Mr Phrase Lubega General Manager Distribution at MTN said in his remarks that,

We face a problem of liquid or well capitalized agents, with this marriage we can serve our high valued customers anytime. With the wide ATM network from centenary bank we shall deliver a bold new digital world to make customers’ lives brighter. The service is fully tested and functioning. We thank the regulator for the support. A lot of services and products have been rolled out thanks to the regulator”[/signoff]

    The Guest of honor and Director in charge of supervision at Bank Of Uganda Justine Bagenda officiated and launched the cardless service. She applauded these companies upon this achievement and commended them upon coming together to make this possible. The more you use shared IT services, the more you cut overhead costs Mrs Bagenda said and we pledge to continues supporting such initiatives thanks to a better banking sector.

    The first 50 guests to this event were given a package on their MTN Mobile Money numbers, they will withdraw using ATM’s. Customers will be able to use the service at any Centenary Bank ATM by dialing *165# and follow the prompts.
