    Mikolo App Review: An App to help you get your wedding on track

    The extent to which technology can go is only limited by your imagination, we now have most aspects of our lives sorted and controlled by simply downloading and installing an app.

    Now that in Uganda weddings and traditional ceremonies are part of our weekends, the Mikolo  App which is a must have for anyone planning for a wedding, or any traditional function which can be downloaded from Google’s Play Store and it’s just 7.15MB on Android.

    The app comes bundled with a couple of features all focused on helping you thoroughly organize and make your event very colorful from arranging tracking days left for your big day (wedding or traditional ceremony), planning tools, locate and find vendors, direct chat with local vendors among others.

    Once installed on your mobile phone the app welcomes you with a brief introduction about the app, actually one of the few apps you will explore before you even sign up or asks for log in details making it quite awesome. Also using this opportunity to check out the different functionality of the app.

    The app opens with a beautiful gallery of photos show casing different styles in decorations, fashion and design, different vendors showcasing their products like makeup artists, cakes etc, providing you with a range of options or choices to choose from. The app includes a blog option were people using the app share different ideas especially for events organizers and those getting wedding ideas.

    Surprisingly the app doesn’t have a slide menu as its a common design pattern today but rather a bottom menu and here is what we discovered:

    1. Inspiration —-  This is part of the app gives what we can call optical nutrition of the different makeup styles, decorations,cake designs.
    2. Vendors —- Basically here their are different service providers clearly categorized depending on the service offered, here you will find the photographers, decorators, wedding dresses, Bridal makeup etc.
    3. Chat —-  Once logged in you can be able to chat with different app registered vendors with without actually meeting to discuss big day details with your wedding vendors directly in the app.
    4. Planning —- Planning tools will be available in the next update.
    5. My Day —-  Finally we can sign up and log in here depending whether your planning an Event, Event owner

    Uganda is highly ranked as one of the enterprising countries in the world and its no surprise that we having apps of this nature.
