Microsoft set to show off Windows 10 for it’s smartphones

The 21st of this month is expected to be one hell of a press event for Microsoft. Apart from throwing more light on Windows 10 and their new Spartan browser, the company is also expected to show off Windows 10 across phones and tablets. Over the weekend the company released a “Phone Insider” app, which will be used to will demo several features aimed at Windows 10 on smartphones. This will include few user interface changes designed to unify its mobile operating system with its desktop and other products like the Xbox One games console.

The”Phone Insider” app provides similar access to the Windows 10 insider program, allowing fanciers and collaborators to test an early version of Windows 10 for smartphones. It should be noted that this app only works for Microsoft employees. Just like in the Windows 10 insider program, the initial preview for phones will be limited in features as the company seeks feedback on changes ahead of a release later this year.

Microsoft is also expected to detail its developer and app plans further at the January 21st event and will focus more on the consumer features of both the desktop and phone / tablet operating system.
