A Ugandan based technology firm called Microfuse computer technologies is finally set to launch its new products onto the market with its products. The company designs and manufactures consumer-level electronics that range from electronic board design to product enclosure and product packaging design.
Microfuse told Techjaja that, “Our vision is for Microfuse to extend the technology to communities and households and increase access to the internet and information in Uganda and Africa at large by up to 80% by 2030”
The company was started by Mr.Karugaba Ivan Junior and Mr. Ochieng Elvis Obbo, who look at driving technology to communities at an affordable cost by designing devices that are tailored to meet the needs of Ugandans and African at large.
“We are launching our first product into the market on November 27th and mainstream sales will start on December 15th,” Ivan Junior confirmed to Techjaja.
The Microfuse stick computer

The Microfuse computer just like a Chromecast or Amazon fire stick is a device that can be plugged into a TV, monitor, projector for work or entertainment. A powerful yet miniaturized Computer/IPTV streamer. Available in three colors, Amazing performance and PC boot up in under 4 seconds.
It can be used as a computer, content streamer and a storage device. The aim is to make customers be more comfortable going for business meetings while carrying less baggage, plug into the projector, and ready to present. Microfuse computer technologies has been able to design and develop a device with a fully functional IPTV solution for Uganda, currently, they have built a fully functional device that has the following capabilities.

The Specs

The Microfuse computer/IPTV streamer is available in three colors; Matte black/ glossy mix, Red glossy red/matte black mix, and White Matte white/glossy mix. It runs on OS Linux compatible and weighs 120 gms. It has 2 micro USB ports, 1 HDMI port, and 1 micro USB power port to fit all peripherals.
It is powered by a Broadcom BCM2837B0, Cortex-A53 64-bit SoC @ 1.2GHz processor and runs on 1GB LPDDR2 SDRAM. For storage, it comes with flash memory (eMMC) ranging from 8GB / 16GB / 32GB internal expandable to 512 GB.
On the multimedia front, it supports the following formats; H.264, MPEG-4 decode (1080p30), H.264 encode (1080p30), OpenGL ES 1.1, 2.0 graphics.
