Latest iPhone owners on MTN network now have a solution to multiple dropped calls

MTN Uganda customers who own the latest iPhones were having quality of service issues that we leading to several dropped calls. All these phones are designed to run VoLTE which standards for Voice over 4G -LTE network similar to you making a WhatsApp or a Skype call. This service wasn’t available on the market so what mobile network operators did, was to push all calls to the aging and congested 2G or 3G networks and this in most cases caused call drops. But, it seemed that the latest iPhone models had been experiencing an issue with the MTN network.

In a bid to resolve the issue, Apple released iOS 13, that brought about a feature for ability for VoLTE to be OFF for those telecom firms that aren’t certified to providing VoLTE. Still, this wasn’t sufficient for iPhone users on the MTN Network. MTN has worked closely with Apple to finding a lasting solution, and this has become fruitful thanks to iOS 13.4 that was recently released.

    4. Goodbye to dropped calls

The dropped call issue was fully followed up by the communications regulator clarifying that the issue was affecting iPhone X and advanced models. Call drops have been one of the most embarrassing problem on these expensive phones. There was speculation that since the issue was isolated to only iPhones, could also have something to do with the phones antenna design sensitivity similar to the antenna gate that happened when the iPhone 4 was launched. At that point it seemed like a wild goose chase as this wasn’t the case. Similar iPhone issues have also been confirmed by iPhone users in Ghana on the MTN network.

Are you still experiencing multiple dropped call on the MTN network with one of the latest iPhones?
