Having something big and affordable is not a common occurrence, but when it does, you ought to have it for good. The itel P33 smartphone rings a bell of a journey to the promised land of affordable smartphones with high-end specifications.

The entire story-line revolves around the phone’s battery capacity, but there is a lot more to it.

Like we already opened up to you, in the first impressions we had about the device, the phone is really attractive even with just a simple design and build. You won’t see a notch, you won’t have an edge-to-edge display on the P33, but you can be sure of a really cool gadget in it.

    itel P33 Design and Build

itel is posing a finer touch on every other device that comes on the market, if you compare it to a predecessor. The P33 is characterized by a rather simple design, that sparkles at a distinct glance.

It features a 5.5 inch screen, which does perfectly fit well with the slim look of the phone. You can’t ask more from the brand, given the itel P33 clones the same identity as the P32 but has a bigger pixel resolution than it. On the screen comes a pre-fitted screen guard, so you won’t worry about the screen cracking upon falls; and the you ought to note that the navigation buttons are in the display.

The backside of the P33 is a beautiful removable plastic cover. We’ll call it a beauty because it really glows from a far, and can draw a satisfactory appreciation from an onlooker without a doubt. On the backside is the fingerprint scanner, one that can guarantee you secure authentication as well as the dual camera array at the top left.

    itel P33 Camera

itel P33 packs a dual setup at the rear of 8MP sensors, and for the time we’ve had it, there are no complaints.

There are a number of modes you can switch between when using the camera, Panorama (Pano), Video, Photo, Portrait, and even the option to choose between HDR or Pro. HDR (High Dynamic Range) requires you to steady the phone while capturing to avoid any misses, thus you could need a stand to position the phone in one place, while the Pro mode gives you more options in which you can adjust the camera settings for the best shots.

The front camera is a 5MP sensor which as well does not disappoint in its output. There is a flash light for dark environment, and it has the ability to output really good selfies. Plus, we used the same front camera for face-unlock and it is really effective. The ‘blink to unlock’ feature works perfectly well on this and can guarantee some handsome security for your phone.

    itel P33 Performance

At 1GB of RAM, you would expect the itel P33 to be a little dull when it comes to general performance, but it does some good work out there. The key advantage it possesses is having the Go Edition of Oreo running on it, which makes much of the software feather-weight. you can swiftly swipe through apps and do your A-B-C as though you are running on 4GB RAM.

The battery is really powerful, and that’s an excellent job for itel. You can be guaranteed of two full days up on just a single charge, even on active use. Additionally, the smart Power Master which helps you to ensure that no app consumes your battery power in the background while you don’t know is an amazing deal. We can officially announce that itel P33 is the most affordable among the big-battery smartphones in Uganda – until the P34 comes on board.

We, however, noticed that if you use it more than often (probably for every other minute), it breaks down. On two occasions, the P33 had to reboot (itself) as though to hint at being exhausted. But this could be a result of the heavy battery it houses.

    itel P33 Vs similar smartphones

itel P33 has a number of phones that fall in its price bracket. Among these is Xiaomi’s Redmi Go, itel S13, Fero Vibe, Tecno POP1, Simi’s S503, among others. Of these all, it is only the P33 that has a dual rear camera array as well as carrying the biggest battery at 4000mAh.

The Redmi Go smartphone beats them all to its 4G connection ability, as the rest can best afford 3G connectivity, while the performance also fluctuates independently with each phone carrying 1GB RAM chips. Overall, if you don’t care that much about 4G, the P33 is the best buy among them all.
