I just bought the itel A70. It’s indeed Awesome at first sight!

Weeks back, I lost my itel A60 to a shattered screen. As unfortunate as it appeared to be, itel was just about to launch the series’ successor; its latest addition to the A-series – the itel A70. Aptly tagged as ‘Awesome’, this device is poised to redefine the smartphone experience in Uganda. It blends top-tier features with an affordable price point that challenges the status quo.

I bought myself a copy of the A70, obviously to replace the A60; and here in this article are the first impressions of the device. There’s quite a lot that we expect from the device, given that it is in the top entry-level bracket and a best-selling Series in the itel family; coming after the hot cake in the A60

Let’s see if it meets your expectations.

What’s in the box and specifications?

itel packs the brand-new A70 Awesome in a white box, quite different from the usual red (though not so different from the A60 packaging). In there: you get the phone, a charging brick, USB Type-C cable, SIM-ejection tool, pair of wired earphones, and a case.

itel A70 price: Starts at UGX 285,000

    itel A70 specifications: 6.6-inch HD+ display with 120Hz refresh rate | itelOS 13 based on Android 13 | T603 Octa-Core processor | 13MP dual rear cameras | 8MP front camera | 5000mAh battery | side mounted fingerprint sensor | USB-C support

    The first impressions

You’d quickly guess that the itel A70 is the one of the most unique devices from the brand. Its build, design, and outlook is just made for the next generation of users – yet at a beautifully low budget.

But we should as well tell you how much of this we have loved from the phone in a few hours of using it. Let’s take a look at the good and the bad about the phone.

What we love about the itel A70

Design and Display: This is the solid-iest part of the device. The itel A70 features a stunning 6.6-inch HD+ Display, equipped with a dynamic bar for key updates during active use, a 120Hz touch sampling rate, and super clear brightness.

Battery and Charging: Powering the itel A70 is a massive 5000mAh battery, ensuring long-lasting performance and efficient connectivity. The inclusion of a Type-C charging system further enhances the device’s modern appeal. With the Power Marathon feature offering three energy-saving solutions, users can confidently enjoy round-the-clock battery use.

Security Features: itel places a premium on security, and the A70 reflects this commitment. The device offers dual security features, allowing users to choose between the side fingerprint sensor and face unlock for convenient and secure access to their smartphones. With these options, data and personal information remain protected at all times.

itel A70 Price and Availability in Uganda

The itel A70 is priced at an affordable UGX 285,000, making it an excellent choice for those seeking a budget-friendly smartphone without compromising on features and performance. To enhance accessibility, the device is available at all authorized itel and Airtel outlets in Uganda.

For added convenience, prospective buyers can opt for an installment plan through Easy Buy – itel’s device financing partner. With a deposit of UGX 106,841 and a daily payment of UGX 1,421 for a year, the itel A70 becomes even more accessible to a wider audience.

    Conclusion

This is just a sneak into the performance of the itel A70. We are going to go into the details of each specification in our review article coming up later. In the meantime, if you have bought the phone, you can let us know in the comments what your first impressions have been.
