If you thought Facebook was done Xeroxing and giving Snapchat a run for it’s money,you are dead wrong. Taking yet another cue from the Snapchat playbook, Instagram now offers geostickers in its Stories feature. The feature is currently not available in Uganda yet as they are still piloting it in two cities — Jakarta and New York City. Just like Snapchat it offers visual accessories that represent your present location, down to the neighborhood.
These visual location stickers are like location tags, so viewers can tap on them to be taken to location page for more photos in that area. This a step up from what Snapchat can do. Instagram says this is just an early version, so a wider rollout to other cities will likely come soon.
The update is available today on both iOS and Android.
