Infinix Uganda launches the Smart smartphone for music lovers

Infinix Uganda quietly launched on the Ugandan market with the likes of the Hot 4 and the beloved Note 3. It has since expanded its offering to include its flagship Zero series and the S – Series. Today, they have yet again launched an audio centric line of smartphones called Smart. The first one to sail this side of the pearl is the Infinix Smart Smart (X5010) and it will retail exclusively on Jumia.

The phone has long been teased on Infinix Uganda’s social media channels as coming soon but it finally came out of the wild. At the look of things, it is geared towards audiophiles or simply put, audio lovers with features like 3D stereo Surrounding, dual front speakers among others.

While Infinix’s entry into the Ugandan market was in partnership with Kilimall, the Smart launch has been executed in partnership with Jumia as the latter is celebrating 5 years in Uganda. The phone is currently listed on the site retailing for UGX 289,060.

Tecno’s Boom J line proved that actually there is market for audio centric phones as it sold in droves but we are yet to establish if it will make a comeback. The last launch happened in April of last year but the Boom J line has since disappeared even on Tecno’s own website.

Whether this spells doom for the Boom J, we shall find out but the Infinix Smart will surely find reception owing to its affordable price and it it hits offline channels too.
