How the MOGO smartphone loan works

The MOGO Uganda smartphone loan program is designed with accessibility and simplicity in mind. To get started, customers are required to make an initial deposit, which is typically about 28% of the device’s total cost. This upfront payment is intentionally kept within reach for many Ugandans, helping to lower the financial barrier to smartphone ownership.

Once the initial deposit is made, the remaining balance can be paid off through daily, weekly, or monthly installments, with the repayment period extending up to 52 weeks. Daily payments for Infinix models start as low as UGX 1,697, ensuring that even those on tight budgets can afford to own a quality smartphone.

The flexibility of the repayment schedule allows customers to choose a plan that best fits their income cycle, making it easier to manage payments without financial strain.

The application process is straightforward and inclusive. Prospective buyers only need to present a national ID and a SIM card registered for mobile money-there is no requirement for collateral or proof of income. Applications can be completed at any Airtel Uganda store or through MOGO’s authorized representatives, and approvals are typically processed in under 15 minutes, allowing customers to walk away with their new smartphone the same day.

Free Airtel data for new smartphone owners

To further enhance the value of this program, every customer who purchases an Infinix smartphone through MOGO’s loan service receives 3GB of free Airtel data each month for three months. This bonus data package is designed to help new users explore digital opportunities, connect with loved ones, and access essential online services without worrying about immediate data costs.
