Build
The Infinix Hot 8 comes with full glass on the front and back, to give it that premium look it deserves. This is a big difference from the big chunk of plastic that manifested on the Hot 7. The Hot 8 come with a 6.6-inch display with an impressive 20:9 aspect ratio, while the Hot 7 is built with a 6.2-inch screen that accommodates an 18:9 aspect ratio.
The Hot 8 accepts dual nano-SIM placement, and 4G network connectivity while the Hot 7 could only access 4G on the Pro model, and it accepts in micro-SIM placement.
Cameras
The Hot 8 is endowed with a triple camera set up on the rear, comprising of 13MP, 2 MP and a QVGA sensor – all backed up by a quad-LED flash lighting; while the Hot 7 only had a 13MP sensor on its rear with an LED flash.
On the front, both phones boast of an 8 MP sensor though the one on the Hot 8 is capable of capturing even wide angles.
Performance
The Hot 8 runs on a superfast Android 9 Pie with XOS 5 Cheetah, while the Hot 7 comes with the Go Edition of Android 8 Oreo alongside XOS 4. Both phones have 2GB/32GB memory options representing RAM/ROM, though the Hot 7 has even more variants that catered for the various pricing options.
The Hot 7 came with a MediaTek MT6580 chipset running on a 4000mAh battery, which the Hot 8 upgrades to an MT6761 chip running on a massive 5000mAh battery. The Hot 8 supports Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac and Bluetooth 5.0 while the Hot 7 can only support Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0.
