iDroid USA has added new names to its growing rota of celebrity endorsers. Besides famed musical doctor Jose Chameleon and TV personality Kleith Kyatuhaire, a whole lot of celebrity faces have been added to the iDroid brand as ambassadors.
The new iDroid celebrity ambassadors were announced at the just concluded #Version86 youth conference held at Mandela National Stadium, which brings new faces like Mun*G, Dancehall maestro Nutty Neithan of the “Bakuwe Kyonwa hit, fellow Dancehall queen; Sheeba Karungi, crooner Rema Namakula and NTV’s GXP beauty Carol Flower.

The signing up of celebrities comes at a time when the company is rumored to launch brand new phones as close sources in the corridors of the Kololo headquartered vendor lament. It’s clear that the new signings appeal to the hip or Ugandan youth demographic that many vendors wish to bring under their fold. iDroid USA seeks to expand its portfolio of smartphones from the current Royal V7 & Tango A5 to the yet to be named handsets under the guise of these signings.
It would make sense for iDroid USA to increase its handset offerings especially if they introduce an entry-level smartphone given they have a notable absence in that particular tier.
A sub $100 handset is better suited represent the brand to folks who can’t cough an excess of $150 for a midtier Tango A5 or the flagship Royal V7.
