    Huawei announces Cloud Stack 8.3 to boost Industry Intelligence

    Huawei has announced the launch of its Huawei Cloud Stack 8.3 offering at the Huawei Africa Connect 2024 conference in Johannesburg, South Africa. The new cloud solution aims to help government and enterprise customers in Africa accelerate their digital transformation and cloud adoption.

    Trusted Cloud Infrastructure and Innovative Services

    Hu Yuhai, Vice President of Huawei Hybrid Cloud, delivered a keynote speech titled “Leap to Cloud to Accelerate Industrial Intelligence” where he detailed how Huawei Cloud Stack provides three key strengths:

    1. Trusted Cloud Infrastructure: Huawei has continuously invested in secure, reliable, and open cloud native infrastructure, as well as green, low-carbon IT hardware and data center infrastructure to lay a robust foundation for digital transformation in Africa.
    2. Innovative Cloud Service Abilities: Huawei leverages data and AI technologies to provide over 110 cloud services, helping customers unlock the value of data and enhance data sovereignty.
    3. Extensive Industry Know-how: Huawei provides a range of professional services, from high-level design to implementation, drawing on its experience from global projects to help customers accelerate their intelligent and digital transformation.

    “Huawei Cloud strives to be the preferred cloud for intelligent transformation. In Africa, For Africa, we are ready to work alongside our customers and partners with better technologies, industry solutions, and ecosystem resources,” said Hu Yuhai.

    Addressing Industry Challenges in Africa

    Bai Yan, Vice President of Huawei Cloud for the Southern Africa Region, highlighted that as customers in Africa drive forward with cloud adoption and intelligent transformation, they have faced challenges such as issues with submarine optical cables, inefficient cloud resource acquisition, and data sovereignty concerns.

    “Huawei Cloud Stack helps them address these challenges with three strengths. It provides on-premise, reliable and secure cloud infrastructure, as well as offers an extensive suite of cloud services and a diversified partner ecosystem,” said Bai Yan.

    Xiao Yi, President of Huawei Cloud’s Global Ecosystem Solution Department, emphasized that digital transformation is experiencing exponential growth, and the world is entering the era of intelligence.

    “Huawei Cloud looks forward to joining hands with African partners to build a new foundation for an intelligent world, develop digital solutions, and reshape industries with intelligence,” said Xiao Yi.

    Huawei’s new Cloud Stack, the 8.3, currently serves over 5,500 government and enterprise customers globally, leading multiple markets such as the hybrid cloud in China and the emerging Asia-Pacific region.
